Open quantum systems provide a natural platform for exploring nonequilibrium phenomena arising from the interplay between coherent evolution and environmental dissipation. In this talk, I will present several recent studies on nonequilibrium dynamics in open quantum systems. Firstly, I will discuss dissipation-induced extended-localized transitions, where dissipation drives systems with mobility edges into states dominated by either extended or localized components, largely independent of the initial state. Secondly, I will introduce a general strategy for realizing the Mpemba effect in open quantum systems, where engineered dissipation gives rise to anomalous relaxation, allowing a hotter state to relax faster than a colder one. Finally, I will show that time-averaged local translational contrast provides a dynamical characterization of topological phase transitions that applies to both open and closed systems. These results demonstrate that dissipation is not merely a source of decoherence, but also a powerful tool for controlling dynamics, revealing nonequilibrium phenomena, and characterizing emergent phases in open quantum systems.
